Here’s what I love about plants—and why I love our “Little Free Plant Library” at Relevé.
Every day in my office, I check on my plants. One of my favorites is a Christmas cactus—the great-grandbaby of my grandmother’s. The way the light shines through its leaves fills me with wonder. I imagine water moving through the roots and tiny green capillaries, nourishing each leaf. And when the soft pink blooms with fuchsia stamens appear in winter it’s magical.
Caring for plants forces us to wait. Wait for roots to take hold. Wait for new leaves. Wait for the day when the baby you nurtured becomes a strong, mature plant. It’s a reminder that growth and beauty take time, and that patience pays off.
One of my worries when I opened Relevé Medical Aesthetics was whether I would unintentionally contribute to a culture of insecurity. The last thing I wanted was for patients to feel like they needed to fit an arbitrary beauty standard.
Plants remind me that beauty doesn’t have to be symmetrical or uniform. Some leaves curl, some bloom brightly, others grow in unexpected directions. And yet, they are all stunning.
It’s the same with people. Beauty can be asymmetric, wild, and deeply individual. Here in New Hampshire, we see this reflected all around us:
None of it is perfect. None of it is boring. And none of it is less beautiful because it doesn’t fit a standard mold.
Women over 40 often come to me feeling self-conscious; whether it’s about frown lines, skin changes, or even the way their body feels different with age. These are not flaws; they are simply barriers to feeling fully confident.
At Relevé, my goal isn’t to make anyone fit into a narrow version of “beauty.” My goal is to help remove the barriers that keep women from shining their unique light. Sometimes that means Botox to soften an expression that doesn’t reflect how you feel inside. Sometimes it’s regenerative skin treatments like CO2 laser, microneedling with PRP, or chemical peels to restore skin health. Sometimes it’s weight wellness support to help you feel at home in your body again.
Like plants, we thrive when our needs are met—and we each have different needs.
The next time you’re in, I hope you’ll take a plant baby home from our Little Free Plant Library. Let it remind you to slow down, to notice small changes, and to celebrate the beauty that doesn’t fit a single mold.
And if you’re ready to feel as rooted, strong, and radiant as your plants, let’s talk. Whether through Botox, regenerative skin treatments, or weight wellness, there are ways to support your growth and help you shine.
Because your beauty is already there. Sometimes, you just need a little space, and a little support, to let it bloom.
